Capacity falls as the boom extends
A telehandler lifts its maximum load only with the boom short and low. As the boom extends forward or upward, the load it can lift becomes smaller. Every machine has a load chart that shows this.
Height in floors
A building floor is roughly three metres. The second floor slab is about six metres up, and a two storey roof is higher still. Telehandlers used on building sites reach this height, but with a lighter load the further out they reach.
What affects a safe lift
- The weight of the load, including its packaging
- How far forward the load must be placed
- The ground under the machine: firm and level
- Wind, especially with large flat panels
What to tell us
Send the weight, the size, the height and how far from the machine the load must go. We check it against the machine and answer straight away.
